Let My Life Be Worship
It’s funny that I keep finding myself back at this place, asking the Lord what it looks like to give up my control. Simply saying ‘Here I am, in your presence, at your feet, fully surrendering to you’. I’ve realized this isn’t a one and done, but a daily choice I have to make. I have to choose each morning that I’m going to give up whatever control I think I have to the Lord Almighty. I want to look like Abraham. To say, ‘Lord here I am’. The Lord blessed Abraham with a son. Then one day God told Abraham, I want you to sacrifice your son. The promise that God had given him, and He’s now asking Abraham to give it up. This isn’t a job, or a friendship, or time. This is his son, his only son!!! What a parallel.  Abraham said, okay God. The next morning he went to the mountain where the Lord had called him, and built an altar to sacrifice Isaac. Just as he was about to, the Lord told him to not lay a hand on the boy, but to sacrifice a ram instead. How obedient was Abraham. How willing he was. To know the Lord had a plan in asking him to do that. And the Lord blessed him because of his faithfulness. What if we lived like Abraham? What if we lived in full surrender to the Lord? What if we just said yes to Him? What would happen?

The Lord has been walking me through all sorts of ways to surrender to him. By letting go of my plans, by learning what it looks like to truly serve others instead of myself, He’s walking me through what it looks like to let go of fear of man. There’s so much room to grow. One of my favorite ways to surrender to the Lord is in worship. I think worship is surrendering. I think our lives can be worship. Worship is community, worship is loving others, worship is finding beauty in creation, worship is forgiveness, worship is realizing Whose we are, it’s giving back the small amount we can to our creator. Moments in worship with my squad are so sweet. To be surrounded by a community that wants to give back to the creator. Whether it’s through songs of praise, communion, deep conversations, or fellowship and games. Worship with these people is beautiful.

Lord, Let my life look like worship. Let my life look like surrender. I want to say yes to you always. I want my life to reflect your love and what Jesus did on the cross. I want to forever say “Here I am”, staying in tune with your heart. Thank you for moments like these ones. Thank you for relationship with you. Thank you for community and friends. I love you Abba, let my words be songs of praise.
